This document contains important information about a few simple steps on how the day will be run to help contain continuing Covid-19 risks as far as possible, meet the requirements that Castle Combe Circuit would like us all to abide by, and at the same time allow you to have an enjoyable day with us. Many thanks for this and for your continuing support.
Events are currently limited to participants and any support people eg mechanics. Please also note that from 14th September 2020 the maximum people in your group must not exceed 6 people.
Please always follow the government advice concerning Covid-19 . It can be viewed here –
It is also a condition of track day entry that all customers follow the current government Covid-19 advice.
Entry to the circuit – This is via the competitors’ entrance (Blue Gate) off the B4039. A gate list will be in operation and only people on the list will be admitted by the security staff on the gate.
For people arriving together in one car, the driver’s name is sufficient. If any members of your party are arriving separately then please provide us with a list of names in good time so we can add them to the gate list. This needs to include your support staff (eg mechanics) if applicable.
The gate will be closed for most of the day and may not be continuously staffed so we would request that you avoid leaving the circuit as far as possible. If you do leave the circuit eg for fuel, please make sure you follow the instructions on the gate concerning hand sanitiser and always close it behind you.
Additional drivers and passengers will be accepted. If they are not from the same household or social support bubble as the main driver we ask that they abide by the current social distancing requirement and that the car should be disinfected between drivers.
Total group size must be a maximum of 6 people or fewer.
The minimum age for entry to the circuit is 16 years of age for the time being. This is also the minimum age for a passenger taking part on the track day subject to the limitations above.
Indemnity form – the booking confirmation email includes an indemnity form as an attachment. Please print it off and complete it so you only need to hand it in at signing on. You can also scan it and email a copy back to us if you wish. Please bring the scanned copy with you to the circuit.
If this is not possible blank forms will be available at the circuit (not preferred). Please request one from the admin desk when you arrive. If you do need to complete the indemnity form on the day then please remember to bring a pen with you as we won’t have communal pens available.
Queuing – when you are queuing to sign on please continue to keep 2m apart in the queue – there will be plenty of room.
Face coverings will be required in indoor locations.
Safety Briefing – we will be conducting the safety briefing in the Strawford Centre garage with the main doors open for ventilation, or in the pit lane if the weather is fine. We will conduct more than one briefing on a rolling basis to allow more space between customers.
After completing registration, and when you are ready, please go to the Strawford Centre garage where we will deliver safety briefings every 15 minutes from 08:00.
The last safety briefing will commence not later than 08:45 after which time it will be necessary to attend a late briefing session usually from 09:30.
An introductory welcome to Castle Combe will not be given but everything you need should be covered by the confirmation email and its attached programme for the day.
The safety briefing will cover the essentials but will be shorter and not as detailed as usual. Therefore, please read the information pack provided as an attachment to the confirmation email and the track day supplementary regulations in force for the day included in the confirmation email.
Wrist Bands – for security reasons our staff normally attach wrist bands to customer wrists. We’ll be waiving that, and customers will be handed wrist bands to attach themselves. When queuing for briefing bands after the safety briefing, please remember to socially distance.
Tuition is suspended for the time being.
Helmet hire will not be available. If you require a helmet you might like to consider purchasing an inexpensive one for day. Inexpensive motorcycle helmets are readily available from places like Amazon or Halfords and could be used on future track days of course.
Café Bar-H will be open but there may be limitations on numbers of people inside. Takeaway options including hot and cold drinks will also be available. A one-way system will be in operation. Payment by card is preferred. A café Bar-H flyer is attached to your confirmation email detailing options available.
Lavatory facilities are limited to the toilet block behind Café Bar-H.
Shelter – You might like to consider bringing a gazebo if the weather is wet. None of the buildings at Castle Combe will be open.
Camping is currently not permitted by the circuit.
The public areas normally accessible on our track days will in all probability be shut with access limited to the paddock. Access to the pit lane is not permitted on our track days.
